Read Ezra 1.1-5
“Then the family heads of Judah and Benjamin and the priests and Levites – everyone whose heart God had moved – prepared to go up and build the house of the Lord in Jerusalem.” (Ezra 1.5)
After some 70 years of exiles, two and more generations down the line, it was no small thing for God’s people to think of returning to Jerusalem: disruption, dangers and difficulties was what it would cost. God moved them to take that step of faith

Does the comforting familiarity of your present situation hold you back from taking bold steps of faith in pursuit of God’s glory?
Prayer: Thank You, Lord, that the faith which has drawn me back to Your Son was prompted by Yourself: and thank You, too, that You always complete what You begin!
