Tuesday 4 May

Rescue

Read Exodus 3.7-10

“I have indeed seen the misery of My people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave-drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering ..” (Ex.3.7)

Israel’s deliverance from slavery in Egypt is a great illustration of what God’s salvation comprises: behind His saving activity was His covenant love, and here God explains in memorable terms the unchanging features of the love that He has for His people.

In what ways does God’s love for His people find expression according to His declaration in these verses?

How (and why!) does this apply to you today?

Prayer: Thank You, O my Father, for sending us Your Son, and leaving Your Spirit ‘til the work on earth is done.
