Incomparable

Read Isaiah 40.12-17

“To whom then will you compare God? What image will you compare Him to ..’” (Isaiah 40.18)

The God who comes in sovereign grace to shepherd His people is unique in His great creative power: neither the forces of nature nor the nations of the world are, even remotely, a match for Him – thus His people may rest secure.

What is the barrage of questions running through these verses intended to effect in us as we read them?

In what ways should verse 13 (quoted by the apostle Paul in his great doxology in Rom.11.34) be a ‘comfort’ to God’s people?

Prayer: O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder consider all the worlds Your hand has made .. then sings my soul, my God, how great You are!
