Relationship
Read Matthew 7.21-27
“.. Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from Me, you evil-doers!’” (Matt.7.23)
Neither profession of faith (“Lord, Lord ..”), nor religious performance (“did we not ..”) count for much in the final analysis: only personal relationship. Do you know Jesus? And more to the point does Jesus know you or not?
How can you best cultivate that relationship with Jesus?
What part(s) of the ‘Sermon on the Mount’ (Matt.5.1-7.27) do you need to take on board and put into practice?
Prayer: Often I’m distracted from spending time with You, Lord Jesus. Help me to safeguard such times, to hear Your Word and to share my heart that I may the better do Your will.
