Grace

Read Luke 1.57-66

“He asked for a writing tablet, and to everyone’s astonishment he wrote, ‘His name is John.’ ..” (Lk.1.63)

9 months on mute gave Zechariah time to ponder the promise of one who would minister ‘in the spirit and power of Elijah’ (Lk.1.17): he showed what the impact of his son’s ministry would be – obedience to God’s word.

Over the course of the past year or so, in what areas have you been challenged to a fresh obedience?

In what ways has God’s Word been calling you to something which runs counter to the expectations of those around you?

Prayer: Help me, Lord, to find time and space to be still in Your presence, to reflect on Your word, and to see how Your grace will best be proclaimed by me today.
