Salvation
Read Luke 1.67-75
“Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because He has come to His people and redeemed them. He has raised up a horn of salvation for us ..” (Lk.1.68f)
The final book of the Old Testament had promised a day when the Lord would come: that day, Zechariah realized, had now come, and he rejoiced in all that the coming of the Lord would entail.
What comprises the ‘salvation’ to which Zechariah makes reference here?
In what ways have you found the Lord enabling you ‘to serve Him without fear in holiness and righteousness before Him’?
Prayer: How glad I am, my gracious God, that You have come and set me free! May all I say and do today reflect and give expression to that joy!
