Read Luke 1.76-79
“‘.. you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for Him, to give His people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins ..’” (Lk.1.76f)
Zechariah knew his Bible and understood well the role which the forerunner of the Messiah would fulfil: the prospect of ‘the sun of righteousness’ which would ‘rise with healing in its rays’ (Mal.4.2) filled this elderly man with delight!
Through whom did the Lord give you ‘the knowledge of salvation’?
