Refuge

Read Psalm 46.1-3

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble ..’” (Ps.46.1)

The theme of this psalm runs through the whole of Scripture. Its focus is on God – who He is and what He does, why and how you may rely on Him in the face of every sort of crisis and adversity you face.

When adversities come it can feel like the bottom is falling out of your world: in such circumstances how can you avoid being overwhelmed with fear?

Why can you be sure that God will indeed be that ‘ever-present help’ in your troubles?

Prayer: Thank You, Lord God, for all that You are to all who trust in You: keep me from being pre-occupied with the troubles I face, and help me daily to take refuge in You.
