Light
Read John 3.19-21
“.. This is the verdict: light has come into the world ..” (Jn.3.19)
Light, in the person of Jesus, has broken into the darkness, chaos and void of a sin-ridden world: the new life of the kingdom of God is nothing less than a new creation. The real evil of sin is seen in the fact that unregenerate sinners prefer the darkness.
Today, in the worship of believers, you magnify Jesus as Creator, Saviour and Lord: how might you encourage others to delight in Him as such?
What will it mean for you in the course of this new week to ‘come into the light’ and to ‘live by the truth’?
Prayer: God whose almighty Word, chaos and darkness heard, and took their flight: so now, where the gospel-day sheds not its glorious ray, let there be light!
