Hunger

Read John 4.31-38

“.. ‘My food,’ said Jesus, ‘is to do the will of Him who sent Me ..” (Jn.4.34)

The woman’s thirst is matched by the disciples’ hunger. But while they were hungry for lunch, Jesus was hungry for God. Made as we are in the likeness of God there’s a hunger in our hearts to be co-workers with Him and to see the fruit of such labour.

In what ways are you sharing in the work of God in your day-by-day life?

Are you reaping the benefits of the hard work of others – or will others reap the benefit of your hard work?

Prayer: Thanks be to You, O Lord, for giving us Your victory! Help me to abound always in Your work, in the knowledge that our labour in Your service is never in vain.
