Response

Read John 5.5-7

“.. ‘Sir,’ the invalid replied, ‘I have no one to help me ..’ ”  (Jn.5.7)

The man ducks Jesus’ “Yes-or-No” question – as we often do ourselves. His response may have reflected a hopelessness born of long experience: or a defensiveness, fearing reproof: or an aloneness, a man discarded by society. But Jesus had seen him!

Hopelessness: defensiveness: aloneness: with which of these can you most readily identify?

What comfort is it to you to know that Jesus sees you (read Exodus 3.7-8)?

Prayer: Thank You, Lord, that Your eye is always on me, that You see my trials, hear my cries, anticipate my needs and come in grace to rescue and deliver me.
