Read John 11.4-7
“.. so when He heard that Lazarus was ill, He stayed where He was ..” (Jn.11.6)
It reads like a total disconnect. Jesus loved them: so He left them to it. Eh? But it’s precisely because He loved them that He didn’t act immediately, that in the lives of those He loved God’s glory might be wonderfully displayed! He knows what He’s doing
How did you cope with similar times in your life when you looked to the Lord for His help, and He seemed to do nothing for long enough?
When things go wrong in your life and the Lord seems far away, are there ways in which you can assure yourself that you are indeed loved by Him?
Prayer: Lord, I find the waiting hard! Instil in me the confidence that I will indeed see ‘the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living’ (Ps.27.13)
