Witness
Read Luke 24.45-49
“.. and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things ..” (Lk.24.47f)
Jesus’ revealing of Himself to His disciples as the one who is now risen from the dead was less for their sakes and more for His sake: His death and resurrection would issue in the giving of the Spirit to them, and the salvation of the nations through them.
As a believer your calling is as a ‘witness’: how has that been finding expression in your life?
Where would you say your sphere of ‘witnessing’ begins?
Prayer: Take Charles Wesley’s hymn, ‘O Thou who camest from above’ and make the words of the hymn your own prayer today.
