Rebelling
Read Psalm 78.9-20
“But they continued to sin against Him, rebelling in the wilderness against the Most High.” (Ps.78.17)
The faithfulness of God in liberating His people from slavery in Egypt, and then protecting them and feeding them, stands in stark contrast to the ‘forgetfulness’ of His people, and their quickly adopting a rebellious and complaining spirit against Him.
What does the psalmist suggest was the reason for this perversity?
What traces are there of such a complaining spirit in yourself?
Prayer: Lord, I believe: help my unbelief! May Your Spirit make me always mindful of all Your great goodness towards me in all that You have done for me.
