Read John 5.1-3
“.. here a great number of disabled people used to lie ..” (Jn.5.3)
The physical condition of these people provided a graphic illustration of the spiritual state of humanity: blind (unable to see things as they really are), lame (not a leg to stand on), paralysed (incapable of significant action). Jesus comes to a world in need.
How is such ‘blindness’, ‘lameness’ and ‘paralysis’ evidenced in society today?
In what ways have you been conscious of such a condition in yourself?
Prayer: Lord, apart from You I can do nothing. Open my eyes that I may see You the more clearly: strengthen my weak knees that I may serve you the more fruitfully today.
