Kindness
Read 2 Timothy 2.22-3.9
“.. the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful ..” (2 Tim.2.24)
‘Kindness has convicted more sinners than either zeal, eloquence or learning: and these three never had much effect on any if they did not have kindness as well’ (F W Faber): your living, and your very manner, are key elements in teaching God’s truth.
What are the qualities you should look for in those called to teach God’s Word and why are those qualities so important?
How can a person be ‘always learning – but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth’?
Prayer: Preserve me always, O God, from having merely a form of godliness but denying its power: may my living be marked by the Spirit’s power, love and self-control.
