Read Revelation 22.1-5
“No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and His servants will serve Him ..” (Rev.22.3)
God’s purpose comes full circle: the Bible ends where it began with the ‘river whose streams make glad the city of God’: that final ‘gladness’ which awaits God’s people centres around His presence among us, His healing upon us, and His rule over us.
What excites you about the promised ‘new heaven and new earth’ (Rev.21.1) as depicted here?
Do you live too much for the present and too little towards this future?
Prayer: Come upon me afresh today, great resurrecting God, filling my horizons with the hope of that glorious day of final resurrection.
