Sunday 30 May

Strength

Read Isaiah 40.27-31

“Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint” (Isaiah 40.31)

Jesus said, ‘Come to Me and rest’ (Matt.11.28-30). The rest, refreshment and renewal that He brings is tied to our being ‘yoked’ with Him: He takes the lead and bears the load – and His great strength becomes ours as well.

How does what the prophet declares here help you when you feel your ‘cause’ is somehow ‘disregarded’ by your God?

What does it mean for a believer to ‘hope in the LORD’ (v.31)?

Prayer: At the start of a new week, Lord, I need Your strengthening grace! Meet with Your people today that we may soar again like eagles through these coming days.
