Read Luke 24.4-8
“While they were wondering about this .. in their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground ..” (Lk.24.4-5)
Often enough things don’t work out quite the way we plan! Circumstances can leave us perplexed, confused and frightened. The women here, already weighted down with the burden of grief, must have been at sixes and sevens.
What things have happened in your experience which left you perplexed and troubled like the women here – and how do you handle such turmoil?
In what different ways did God’s word minister to the hearts of the women in their turmoil, and what lessons does that have for you?
Prayer: “When I said, ‘My foot is slipping,’ Your love, O Lord, supported me. When anxiety was great within me, Your consolation brought joy to my soul” (Ps.94.18f)
