Wednesday 12 May

Sacrifice

Read Philippians 2.19-30

“.. You know that Timothy has proved himself, because as a son with his father he has served with me in the work of the gospel ..” (Phil.2.22)

Paul commends two ‘(un)likely lads’ to the Philippian church, as those who exemplify in their living what it means to ‘work out your salvation with fear and trembling’: in them you see an illustration of how this ‘reverence’ for God will show itself.

What qualities in Timothy and Epaphroditus does Paul highlight?

In what ways are you offering your body as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God (Rom.12.1)?

Prayer: Enable me by Your Holy Spirit, Lord, to live today in such a manner that in every situation I am offering up my body as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to You
