Grace
Read Daniel 4.28-33
“.. ‘Seven times will pass by for you until you acknowledge that the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth ..’” (Dan.4.32)
The king had been warned. He’d been told what he needed to do. But the thrust of the message soon faded, the urgency was lost – and ‘regular service’ was resumed at Babylon Palace. The moment of grace (12 months in this case) was lost.
What disciplines can you put in place in your life to avoid the natural pull of the sinful flesh towards a wretched self-importance?
Have you been presuming on the grace of God?
Prayer: Too easily and too often, O my God, I’m beguiled by the deceitfulness of sin to make much of myself: keep me, please, from presuming on Your daily grace.
