Powerless
Read Daniel 6.14-18
“A stone was brought and placed over the mouth of the den .. so that Daniel’s situation might not be changed” (Dan.6.17)
The king was powerless to save Daniel, despite his best efforts. Daniel’s enemies were about to discover, though, that their best efforts to kill him were equally powerless! Neither a physical stone, nor a political seal would be able to hold him!
Why does God allow such wicked and wretched things to happen to His faithful people?
Daniel shared the same perspective as that of his friends (Dan.3.16-17): how can you cultivate that perspective in your own heart?
Prayer: Help me to remember that even in the darkest valley and in the most desperate circumstances I need fear no evil – for You, O Lord, are always with me.
