Friday 12 November

Submission

Read Romans 13.1-7

“.. the one in authority is God’s servant for your good ..” (Rom.13.4)

Those in positions of authority exercise their rule not by divine right but by divine appointment. They are accountable to God, in that their divine calling (whether recognised as such or not) is to secure the truest welfare of their people.

In what ways do you show your care for the community in which you live?

What are the responsibilities which those in positions of authority have under God?

Prayer: Forgive me for too easily and too often simply finding fault with those who rule – show me today how I may better respect and honour others.
