Blessing
Read Romans 15.26-29
“.. they owe it to the Jews to share with them their material blessings ..” (Rom.15.27)
Salvation, Jesus had once declared (Jn.4.22), is from the Jews: the Gentile world had benefited from that ‘ministry’ of the Jews: Paul points to an important principle – you honour the Lord by honouring those whom He uses to minister His grace to you.
Through whom did (and does) the Lord bring you to faith and minister His ‘spiritual blessings’ to you?
In what ways might you be in a position to ‘honour’ them as Paul suggests the Gentiles were bound to honour the Jews?
Prayer: Thank You, Lord, for those faithful servants through whom You bless and enrich me with Your salvation: help me to be careful to ‘bless’ them in my turn as I am able.
