Reflection

Read Luke 1.18-25

“I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news ..” (Lk.1.19)

Zechariah was ‘muted’ by the angel. Not so much the ‘naughty corner’ as a good old-fashioned ‘quiet time’: a chance to reflect on a message that was marvelous in its hopefulness and grace, and massive in its long-term repercussions.

How can you best make time through this week for reflecting again on the Christmas story?

Does this passage challenge you to develop a better pattern of having time apart with the Lord, pondering His Word and praying?

Prayer: I praise You, Lord, that You can do immeasurably more than all we ask or think: help me to reflect on that truth, to rest in that confidence, and to live in that light.
