Gathering

Read Leviticus 23.1-4

“.. the appointed festivals of the LORD, which you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies” (Lev.23.2)

The whole chapter is an instructive and permanently relevant manual on holidays (literally, of course, ‘holy days’). A key component of these ‘holy days’ lay in their being designated ‘sacred assemblies’. Gathering together is a core gospel imperative!

Have you eased back from your commitment to gather with God’s people?

How can you best ensure that your gathering with God’s people is indeed a truly ‘sacred’ assembling?

Prayer: Keep me from any ‘staleness’ in my attitude to the gathering of Your people for worship: kindle in my heart a fresh delight and expectancy in such times.
