Read Deuteronomy 16.16-17
“.. Three times a year all your men must appear before the LORD your God ..” (Deut.16.16)
Jerusalem is located high on the Judean plateau. Three times a year God’s people were obliged to ascend to the city, converging there from across the land, and celebrating together for an extended period God’s enduring goodness to them.
In what ways have you known the Lord’s delivering power and His providing grace?
The start of a new year may be an opportune time to review your giving: are you honouring the Lord with giving that is proportionate (v.17)?
Prayer: You have been good to me, O Lord, beyond all my deserving! Thank You for your daily mercies to me and for the constancy of Your covenanted love.
