Read Psalm 125.1-2
“.. so the LORD surrounds His people both now and for evermore” (Ps.125.2)
Believers are not exempt from the many varied challenges and trials which life may bring: but they cannot be shaken or ‘derailed’ by them. They are eternally secure. Not because of anything in them, but because of the Lord’s all-encompassing love in Christ.
What examples have there been in your own life of the Lord preserving you through times of trial?
What difference does it make to your day-by-day living to know that the Lord surrounds His people permanently?
Prayer: Keep me safe, O God, for in You I take refuge. Lord, You have made my lot secure .. because You are at my right hand I shall not be shaken (Ps.16)
