Scattered
Read Genesis 11.5-9
“.. then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them ..” (Gen.11.6)
God knows better than any the ‘power of one’! His scattering the nations was a judgment on their presumptuous sin, and at the same time a mercy on His broken world: their being scattered put a limit on the damage which their sinfulness could do.
Many of the world’s challenges today need coordinated action on the part of different nations: are steps in this direction to be welcomed, feared, or both?
Does the unity of the Spirit in the life of a church create huge potential for doing the impossible?
Prayer: In a broken, fragmented world, Lord, You have given Your people the ministry of reconciliation: help me today to be an instrument of peace in all I do and say.
