Sin

Read John 1.29-34

“Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! ..” (John 1.29)

In writing his gospel John’s concern mirrored that of his namesake, John the Baptist: his desire was that those who read his gospel should place their trust in Jesus. From the start, it’s clear why – Jesus alone deals with the root problem with humanity.

Jesus is described as (a) the Lamb of God, and (b) the dove, the one on whom the Spirit remains: how does each help explain the way He has dealt with sin?

What and whom did God use to point you to Jesus?

Prayer: Father, thank You for the ministry of those who boldly and clearly explained my need and pointed me to Jesus. Raise up a new generation of such preachers!
