Praise
Read Psalm 134
“.. Praise the LORD, all you servants of the LORD ..” (Ps.134.1)
The ‘songs of ascent’ began with repentance (Ps.120) and culminate in sustained praise. You were made for this (‘to glorify God and enjoy Him forever’ as the Catechism declares), and praise is the enduring climax in which the path of life issues.
How can you best cultivate a spirit of praise in your heart?
To what extent, and in what ways, does the ‘physical’ (‘lift up your hands’) complement and enhance the ‘spiritual’ when it comes to your praise?
Prayer: How worthy You are, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power! May my life and living today, in all I do and say and think, be a continual sacrifice of praise.
