Priorities
Read Psalm 132.1-5
“.. till I find a place for the LORD, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob..” (Ps.132.5)
David had known enough of the Lord’s ennobling grace and delivering power to have established clear priorities in his heart: he committed his energies to ensuring that the Lord would have His rightful place at the heart of his, and his nation’s, life.
What vows have you made before the Lord? And how have you been fulfilling them?
In what ways are you seeking (or might you seek) to ‘find a place for the Lord’ in your life, and in the life of your community?
Prayer: Help me today, O Lord, to seek Your glory in all I say and do. Keep me from those ‘idols’ which displace Your rightful place in my heart and life.
