Read Luke 19.11-27
“His subjects hated him and sent a delegation after him to say, ‘We don’t want this man to be our king.’ He was made king, however, and returned home. Then he sent for the servants to whom he had given the money, in order to find out what they had gained with it” (Lk.19.15)
Prior to his account of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem Luke also carefully recounts this parable of Jesus, through which He shed light on the coming kingdom of God (v.11). The man in the parable invests heavily in his servants: will they take their cue from him?
When and how and why did you first welcome Jesus as king into your life?
How have you been investing in the kingdom of God?
Prayer: Please help me to see clearly who You are, Lord – not ‘hard’ but ‘noble’: give me the confidence to invest my all for You.
