Read Daniel 9.1-3
“.. I turned to the Lord God and pleaded with Him in prayer and petition, in fasting, and in sackcloth and ashes ..” (Dan.9.3)
The Babylonian empire had collapsed, literally overnight (see Dan.5.30-31). Daniel saw that in and through such upheavals God was at work fulfilling His promises: he came before God in prayer with an open Bible, a humble spirit, and an observant eye.
How might you better combine your pondering Scripture with your praying to God?
In what ways can you see the Lord at work fulfilling His sovereign purpose in and through today’s turbulent events?
Prayer: In the face of a wretched global pandemic, major environmental concerns, and disturbing political upheavals, help me humbly and daily to turn to You, my Lord.
