Read Daniel 3.19-25
“.. ‘Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods ..’” (Dan.3.25)
The king observed a two-fold miracle. Like every miracle it was a ‘sign’, highlighting gospel truth: God Himself is present with His people (Jesus is Immanuel, ‘God with us’), and wonderfully preserves them through the fires of the king’s judgment.
What remarkable instances of the preserving grace of God have you known in your own experience?
Nebuchadnezzar saw the gospel before his very eyes: in what ways might those around you be able to see the gospel in your life?
Prayer: Though I pass through the darkest valley or walk through the fiercest fire, I will not be afraid, for You, O Lord, are with me, my Shepherd and my Saviour.
