Read Ephesians 2.11-18
“.. you who once were far away have been brought near ..” (Eph.2.13)
Jesus’ death was accompanied by a remarkable occurrence – the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom: no longer was sin a barrier keeping you at a distance from God. In Christ You now have access to the Father as His beloved child.
In what ways does each of the terms Paul uses in v.12 to describe your former condition highlight the privilege and blessing of belonging?
How are Father, Son and Holy Spirit each involved in prayer? How does (or might) this find expression in your praying?
Prayer: Nearer, my God, to Thee: nearer to Thee! And though it be a cross that raises me, still all my song would be, ‘Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee.’
