Growth
Read Luke 2.39-40
“.. And the Child grew and became strong ..” (Lk.2.40)
Joseph and Mary returned to the (often mundane) practicalities of a life lived out of the limelight in Nazareth. Growth takes place amidst the daily and doubtless often humdrum routines of that low-key life. So it was for Jesus: so it will be for you.
What sort of growth are you keen to see in your life over this coming year?
God’s way of making things grow is as often as not almost imperceptible: are you always looking for the ‘dramatic’ in your life?
Prayer: I long for such growth in my life, O Lord. Help me by Your Spirit to be faithful in the tasks which lie before me, however mundane they may sometimes seem to be.
