Sunday 4 April

Read Luke 24.36-49

“He told them, ‘This is what is written: the Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem’” Lk.24.46-47)

Faced by the fact of Jesus’ resurrection His disciples were ‘startled’, ‘frightened’, ‘troubled’, and had all sorts of ‘doubts’ in their minds: but along with that there was ‘joy’ and ‘amazement’ too.

What would you say are the major implications of the resurrection of Jesus?

In following Jesus do you think of your primary calling as that of a witness to His resurrection?

How dependent are you day by day on the enabling power of the Spirit?

Prayer: Pray today that the risen Lord Jesus would presence Himself with His people by His Holy Spirit and stir in us all a fresh commitment to His commission.
