Trustworthy

Read Luke 19.11-27

“.. He sent for the servants to whom he had given the money, in order to find out what they had gained with it ..” (Lk.19.15)

A man of noble birth who is made king is generous in the gifts of money he entrusts to his servants. But will they reciprocate? How trustworthy will they show themselves to have been when he returns? Jesus’ story is deliberately challenging.

How have you been investing what the Lord has given to you?

Much depends on how you view God (see vv.20-21). Do you think of God as hard to please, or quick to bless?

Prayer: Take my life, and let it be all You purpose, Lord, for me: consecrate my fleeting days, let them flow in ceaseless praise: take my silver and my gold, not a mite would I withhold. (Frances Ridley Havergal 1836-79)
