Giving
Read Luke 19.1-10
“.. Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor ..” (Lk.19.8)
Zacchaeus’ climbing the tree had been his cry for mercy. A man who’d got well and truly lost in life and couldn’t see the way to get ‘un-lost’: then Jesus met him and ‘saved’ him. It would be giving rather than grasping which marked his life henceforth.
What has been your experience of Jesus speaking into your life as He spoke very personally to Zacchaeus here?
In what ways has the saving work of God in your life issued in your gladly giving of your resources to others?
Prayer: Thank You, Lord, that You spoke to me in my lostness and were glad to come and dwell with me. May I show the same generosity today in all I do and say.
