Righteous
Read Daniel 9.15-16
“.. ‘O Lord, in keeping with all Your righteous acts, turn away Your anger and Your wrath from Jerusalem, Your city, Your holy hill ..’” (Dan.9.16)
The exodus from Egypt is the ‘fall-back’ position for God’s people. For a mixed up, messed up people, bound up in the bonds of slavery, God had proved Himself a mighty deliverer. His ‘righteous acts’ release wayward people from their bondage!
Why does Daniel refer back here to the remarkable events recorded in Exodus?
How can God’s turning His anger away from a sinful people be seen as being in keeping with His ‘righteous acts’?
Prayer: How perfect are all Your ways, O Lord! And how glad I am that You remain the same today as You have always been. May Your righteous acts be known again.
