Dreams can often leave an ‘aftertaste’: we all appreciate that. The king’s dream was like a flashing warning light on the dashboard of his spirit: a warning that left him with the uncomfortable knowledge something wasn’t right – but what exactly…?
The dream comprised a ‘picture’ (vv.10-13) and a message (vv.13-17), in essence the message of the Bible itself: what was the import of the message?
The second dream was like the first – an enormous statue (2.31) and now an enormous tree (4.10): what has the Lord been on about repeatedly to you?
Prayer: Speak, O Lord, and renew my mind: help me to hear clearly, and then heed carefully, what You are saying to me today.
