Wednesday 7 April

Read Luke 24.1-3

“Very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb” (Luke 24.1)

The women don’t realise it, but Luke’s time reference is significant: day one of not only a new week, but a whole new world is dawning. Up early, and oblivious to both difficulty and potential danger, the women are ready for action.

What would have been the challenges and dangers the women faced in going to anoint Jesus’ body with their prepared spices?

Do the difficulties you envisage in a situation prevent you from acting, or prompt you to reliance on God?

Prayer: Grant me daily grace, O Lord, to face every difficulty and challenge by looking to You in the confidence that You will provide for my every need
