Weariness

Read Malachi 1.12-14

“.. ‘For I am a great King,’ says the LORD Almighty, ‘and My name is to be feared among the nations” (Mal.1.14)

What was meant to be a blessing had become instead a burden (v.13) for the people. Their ‘weariness’ with the worship of God found expression in a number of different ways, each symptomatic of their having lost sight of the greatness of the LORD.

In what ways did their ‘weariness’ with the worship of God show itself in the lives of the people?

Why is getting your eyes back on the LORD as the great King so refreshing?

Prayer: Where is the blessèdness I knew when I first saw the Lord? Where is that soul-refreshing view of Jesus and His word? O Fire of God, come burn in me, renew a holy passion ‘til Christ my deepest longing be, my never-failing fountain!
