Cross

Read John 3.13-15

“.. so the Son of Man must be lifted up ..” (Jn.3.14)

The old life must be dealt with and paid for if the new life of the kingdom is to become a possibility. Jesus uses the story in Numbers 21.4-9, which prefigured His passion, to underline the necessity of the cross He would have to endure. Look to Him and live!

Have you been ‘impatient’ with God and grumbled against Him (Nu.21.4-5)?

As the people of Israel were exhorted to ‘look at’ the bronze snake and thus live so we are exhorted to ‘believe’: what does that ‘believing’ involve?

Prayer: Thank You, Lord Jesus, that You came from heaven and paid the price of my sin. Thank You that I know now Your forgiveness and that it’s life in its fulness I know.
