Read Isaiah 40.3-5
“.. make straight in the wilderness a highway for our God ..” (Isaiah 40.3)
The LORD is coming! That’s always been, and remains to this day, the underpinning message of history. God’s salvation in Jesus is universal in its scope: it will be seen by, and may be experienced by, people from all nations.
The first coming of Jesus secured for believers the experience of both His pardon and His continuing presence: are you enjoying both?
What will it mean for you to live in the light of the Lord’s coming?
Prayer: Help me by Your Holy Spirit, O Lord, to look forward to the day when You come again, and so to live a holy and godly life that I ‘speed its coming’ (2 Pet.3.11f)
