Read Daniel 7.19-22
“.. until the Ancient of Days came and pronounced judgment in favour of the saints of the Most High ..” (Dan.7.22)
The ferocity of the antagonism towards God’s people was the feature of the vision which clearly troubled Daniel most. The ‘holy people’ will regularly be up against it and will seem to be losers – but the only verdict which counts is that of God.
In what ways have you experienced this sort of ‘war against the holy people’?
What enables you to keep going you when, like Daniel, you find yourself ‘troubled in spirit’ (v.15) by this constant warfare?
Prayer: Look with compassion, O living God, upon all who presently suffer under cruel and oppressive regimes: grant them day by day Your persevering grace.
