Grateful
Read Romans 16.3-4
“.. Not only I but all the churches of the Gentiles are grateful to them ..” (Rom.16.4)
This couple played a significant role in the life of the early church and in the spread of the gospel (see Acts 18.1-4 and 18-26). Theirs was very much a ‘supporting’ role, but such a ‘low-key’, informal ministry as theirs was (and is) crucial to Christ’s cause.
From the references in Acts (above) why do you think ‘the churches of the Gentiles’ were all grateful to them?
How might the ministry this couple exercised be paralleled in the life of Christ’s church today?
Prayer: Father, how thankful I am for those older and wiser Christians whose ‘behind-the-scenes’ ministry has kept me right and enabled me to press on in Your service.
