Security
Read Philippians 1.12-18
“..what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel ..” (Phil.1.12)
It is not an easy nor a comfortable life to which Jesus calls you. But there is a security about the life He gives you: He will use all your circumstances, however hard or uncomfortable, to serve the cause of the gospel and bring glory to His name.
What distressing or uncomfortable experiences can you think of through which you’ve seen the Lord ‘advancing the gospel’?
To what extent does the concern that Christ should be preached ‘drive’ your daily living?
Prayer: Guard me against the self-pity, Lord, to which I can easily succumb when things seem to go against me: help me rather to seek Your glory in all that happens to me.
