Read Philippians 1.27-30
“.. conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ ..” (Phil.1.27)
What you believe determines, and is reflected in, how you behave: lives that are rooted in the gospel will themselves display the gospel. Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is always combined with a generous love and a vibrant hope. Get the balance right!
The language of this paragraph is the language of battle: in what ways are you experiencing the ‘battle’ as you serve the Lord Jesus?
What will it mean for you today to be ‘striving .. for the faith of the gospel’?
Prayer: In the struggles I may have today, Lord, please be a shield around me; grant me boldness, wisdom and grace that my words and deeds may commend Your gospel.
